The holidays are just around the corner and you probably wondering how you will be able to send flowers to you relatives that are around the world. I’m in the same dilemma and looking for a way to send flowers to Germany. You see I have two older brothers and one younger sister that are still living in Germany and every Christmas I always like to send them a bouquet of white and yellow lilies to show them how much I miss them and care for them. I realized that people around the world also have the same problem on finding a method to ship flowers internationally. I gather a few information that has help me send flowers to Germany and hopefully it’ll also help you.
Online Flower Shops
There are numerous online flower shops that you can search online to see if they offer international flower delivery. I’ve gone through over a dozen online flower shop and found some very good shops and some very bad ones. Some of the worst online flower shop say they offer international shipping but when you are about to checkout and pay they will either charge you an arm and a leg or all of a sudden “can’t” ship to your desired location! Flowers shops I do recommend online are either 1800Flowers.com, FTD.com, Teleflora.com and Proflowers.com. These online shops provide excellent customer service and also the best rates. They even clearly states which country they can ship to and if the country you want is not on the list, they’ll sometimes help you find a local florist in your area that can.
Local Florists
Another method of sending flowers to Germany or any other country is by stopping by your local florist. One thing most don’t know is that your local florist is probably networked with other florist shops around the world and that can provide you with a flower shop within Germany that could help you get your flowers delivered. I recommend checking online first and writing down the rates you found online and try to see if you local flower shop can match what you found online. This way you can get the cheapest rates for international flower delivery and save a few more pennies. Be sure to ask for all selections that are available, you’ll be surprise the difference in price if you want to send a wreath verses a bouquet overseas.
Selecting Flowers in Germany
An excellent tip I like to share when deciding to send flowers to Germany is to select flowers that are grown in or near Germany. The benefit of selecting flowers that are native to Germany is that; first, they’ll be a fresher cut and have a less chance of dying when it arrives to your recipients. Second, native flowers are easier to gather than say a flower from another country which will cost more to get or longer duration to gather all these flowers that are not native to Germany. More florist even the ones online should be able to help you choose which ever type of flower you are looking to send so choosing flowers is not really an issue when going with an reputable online flower shop.
Sending flowers to Germany isn’t a big deal, it’s all about finding the right places that will complete your order promptly and correctly. Like I’ve mention in this post that most online flower store are really reliable especially 1800Flowers.com and TeleFlora.com. I’ve use these online flower shop numerous of times and rarely have an bad experience with them. I wish you the best of luck finding the right florist to send flowers to Germany or any other country.
